PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma): Indications and benefits in Birmingham, MI
You don’t have to be beautiful on the outside to feel beautiful on the inside. PRP is a substance that when injected, promotes healing. PRP contains special “factors” or proteins that help your blood clot and also contains proteins that support cell growth.
Now in Birmingham, take advantage of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatment is a modern technology that has been used in medicine for over 30 years. PRP treatments have become more popular in recent years because of the many benefits it provides. PRP can be used to treat numerous skin problems, including wrinkles, bags under the eyes, sagging cheeks, and acne scars. PRP also stimulates hair growth on both men and women’s scalps by stimulating collagen production and smoothing fine lines when used with micro-needling. Platelet-rich plasma contains proteins that help blood clot as well as those that support cell growth; these are thought to promote healing.
PRP can be used in many different ways, such as for fine wrinkles, bags under the eyes, sagging cheeks, chest and decolletage, skin rejuvenation, acne scars, hair loss prevention, and stimulating hair growth on the scalp. PRP has been proven time and time again to provide amazing outcomes for people who are struggling with any of these issues!

What is PRP therapy?
PRP therapy has been used for years in sports medicine and orthopedics to treat injuries; however, it can also be used for cosmetic purposes. PRP therapy can be applied topically or injected into the skin where it stimulates collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be injected into areas with scars from acne or surgery to reduce their appearance. Finally, PRP therapy may increase hair growth by stimulating scalp follicles with the protein IGFBP1. Think of the benefits of this incredible therapy!

Is PRP treatment good for skin?
If you are looking for a way to help your skin look more youthful and healthy, PRP is one of the best ways. It not only provides total rejuvenation but it also treats delicate areas that other treatments cannot reach. We can provide a consultation to determine if you would be a good candidate for this treatment in order to see what results it could offer you. Do any of these benefits sound appealing?

How long does PRP take to work on face?
PRP treatments are administered as a series of junctures across the face and head over those 2-6 weeks with results improving over time. So cool right? And we haven’t even gotten to this high percentage of patients who reported that their acne improved significantly in a very short period of time. If you’ve been struggling for years with chronic acne breakouts, let this be your saving grace. For hair growth you will notice results after 2 to 3 months more or less.

What can I not do after facial PRP?
For the most beautiful and safe results, time is key. Be sure to leave the PRP on your skin for at least 8 hours! On the next day, you may clean your face with our approved cleanser and apply other topical products as instructed. Stay out of sun or be absolutely sure to wear sunscreen with a SPF of 30 or higher- it’s just fabulous for your newly enhanced skin! For days 2-7 following treatment, don’t use any acid exfoliant and keep up with that great moisturizer regimen to keep things looking fresh.

How do you prepare for PRP?
PRP injections are a safe and effective treatment for many hair and face challenges. The best way to find out if this is right for you is to talk with your doctor about it. Ask them what their experience has been so far in using PRP as a remedy, and how they would go about administering it on your skin or scalp. Once again, don’t let fear get in the way of progress. Our doctors are ready to help you right away if you have any questions!

How can PRP rejuvenate your skin?
Collagen is essential for tight, firm skin. As you age your skin starts to sag but wrinkles and lines don’t always form. Facial skin often thins with age which can lead the lips or cheeks becoming noticeably thin and gaunt. Collagen plumps up the epidermis from within while some people may use a PRP facial to plump their lips without invasive medical procedures needed; others use it re-contour their cheeks so they have an ideal aesthetic that suits them best.

Does PRP work on men?
Absolutely! Although it is more common for women to obtain this procedure, many men also undergo PRP treatment. All of Blooming Beauty treatments work equally well for both men and women.
