Our innovative process of hair removal now in Birmingham, MI
It’s waxing week! Waxing is a hair removal process that has been around for centuries. It involves the use of wax to remove hair from the root of your skin. At Bloomfield MI Blooming Beauty MedSpa, we do our best to make waxing as comfortable as possible.
Waxing is a form of exfoliation that can help your skin feel smoother and hair to start coming in thinner. When waxing, you are removing the top layer of dead cells on the surface which may contribute to how smooth your skin feels after treatment. The removal of these dead cells also means there will be less buildup for future treatments.

What not to do after waxing?
Waxing is a great way to remove unwanted hair from the body. But if you don’t properly care for your skin afterwards, then all the hard work will be in vain. It’s important to avoid sunlight, physical activity, tight clothes, saunas and touching or pulling at the skin. You should also avoid products with chemicals and fragrance as they can irritate sensitive areas like bikini lines and underarms. Follow these simple tips so that you can enjoy smooth-feeling skin for weeks! And remember – always use a good quality moisturizer on top of any other product because it will help lock in moisture while protecting against dryness caused by harsh weather conditions or excessive washing.

Can I shave missed hairs after waxing?
Waxing requires patience and commitment. You have to wait for your hair to grow out again, since the process can only remove hairs that are at least a quarter-inch long. Even though it might seem like you’d get instant gratification with shaving, there’s one major downside: when you shave any type of hair (including pubic), the blunt end leaves behind an appearance that makes those same hairs appear thicker and darker as they grow back in their natural state after just one or two weeks’ time due to how stubbly ends make each strand look more prominent than if waxed off completely from root. Waxing is worth all of this hassle because it removes every last follicle on its way up.

When should you not wax?
We recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your last exposure to any of these before waxing. If you’re pregnant, taking birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy for menopause, have rosacea or are a smoker, it’s best to do a patch test with the wax first in order to see how your skin reacts. And if you’ve had a lot of sun exposure lately too- be sure not to try and remove hair just yet! Sunburned skin tends to peel much more than normal skin does so it is better to avoid getting rid of unwanted hairs until that peeling process is complete.

Should I trim before a wax?
We want to help you get the hair removal process right by providing a few important tips that will make your waxing experience as comfortable and painless as possible. First, never go in for the treatment if you have hairs shorter than 1/8 inch or longer than 1/4 inch because they won’t adhere well to the wax. Secondly, always trim any long hairs before your appointment so there are no surprises when it comes time for removing them! Finally, let your hair grow after every treatment—we recommend waiting at least two weeks between appointments.
